The rotor coils aaa-a' and bbb-b' are formed by connecting the back ends of conductors ‘aa’ and ‘aa'’ and ‘bb’ and ‘bb'’, respectively, as shown in figure (ii). The e.m.f. induced in coil aaa-a' and coil bbb-b' are denoted by EaaE_{a-a'} and EbbE_{b-b'}, respectively.
